Stories Unfolded Reaches 100 Followers!

I am happy to announce that Stories Unfolded reached 100 followers this past week!  I cannot begin to express how excited I am to have such wonderful followers.

As my fellow bloggers know, it’s not easy to keep a decent blog going.  It takes hard work, time, effort, and dedication to create content worth reading and having a blog that others will continue visiting.

My blog has been a hodgepodge of things, but I love the process of writing and always hope that each post brings something to someone.  I’m passionate about sharing my stories on books, my life, and random things to those who take the time to read it.  It’s something I use to hone my skills as a writer and helps me on the path towards finishing my first book.

I’m grateful for all my followers and the feedback I get from them through commenting, sharing, and liking each post on Stories Unfolded.  Without my followers, it would just be me writing to myself.  Not as much fun.

My next goal is to reach 200 followers!  It’s totally possible with your help.

So, please help me get to 200 by sharing posts you love!

Thank you again!

My Favorite Books As A Kid

Randomly, I was thinking about the books I used to read as a kid.  I was always reading and got really excited about those Scholastic book order forms we got every year.  I would circle all sorts of books and hope that my mom would buy them for me.  She would usually get a few, but I had to narrow it down a bit.

So, I wanted to share a few books that I read when I was a kid.

Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell

I remember I read this book in elementary school and we watched the movie at some point.  I still own it.

Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

I absolutely loved this series.  It took a while to read the whole thing since I had to wait for the books to be released.  I was disappointed with the ending though.

Goosebumps Books by R.L. Stine

I was obsessed with the Goosebumps.  I even had a comforter and sheet set.  I read so many of these books and had many of the movies as well.

What were your favorite books as a kid?

Random Post | Dress Obsession

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will notice that I get quite a few items from Francesca’s boutique.  I just love their dresses and have come to the conclusion that I have an obsession with them.  These are the dresses I bought when they had their Friends and Family sale.

One of these lucky dresses is going to be featured in my engagement photos.  Can you guess which one?

Random Post |My Kindle Paperwhite

For a long time, I’ve been totally against e-books.  I thought nothing could be better than holding a book, curling up in a blanket, and drinking some wine.  While I still love the tangible book, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of e-books.

I started by downloading the Kindle app on my iPhone.  It was a bit difficult because of how small the screen was, but it wasn’t terrible.  So, I decided to get myself an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.  Since Net Galley books are only available as digital copies, it gave me another reason to get the Kindle.

I’ve had the Kindle for a week now and have come to find that I’m actually reading more than with the paperback books.  It’s really easy to use and it’s easier to carry around.  I will always have another book on hand if I finish the one I’m reading.

I don’t think I will completely convert to e-books, but will appreciate what both e-books and paperbacks  have to offer.

However, Nicholas Sparks books are the only ones I will have to have as paperback copies.  He’s my favorite author.

What are your thoughts on e-books and paperback books?

The results are in!

The next book I will be reading is The Forgers by  Bradford Morrow.  Thank you to all those who voted.

Poll | What Should I Read Next?

I’ve been loving the site Net Galley.  I mentioned it in one of my early upcoming review posts.  I started using the site mid August and already have a good amount of approved books on my shelf.  Since I’m about half way done with the book I’m currently reading,  I need your help to decide what I should read next.  Take a vote using the poll below.

Poll | E-Book or Paperback

When I’m sitting on the train, heading to work, I look around and see people with either paperback books or e-books.  So, I was curious about what my readers use.  Let me know by taking this poll.

I’m going to start using e-books so if you could also let me know what you think are the best formats and devices to use and why.

Reading GIFs

Here’s some reading GIFs for my fellow book lovers.  I thought this would put a smile on your face today.  The last one makes me laugh.

Amazing Bookcases

My fiance and I recently went to an open house.  In this house were a lot of built in bookcases…I was in heaven.  That got me thinking about bookcases more so than usual and I wanted to share a few that I think look really cool and amazing.

What do you think of these bookcases?
