27 Birthday Goals

Today I turn 27 years old (young) and each year I share a list of goals I have set for myself and an update on my previous year’s goals.

Setting goals is something I live by and I feel that no goal is too small or too big. It’s just about whether you’re willing to work hard to reach them.

“Set daily, monthly, and long term goals and dreams. Don’t ever be afraid to dream too big. Nothing is impossible. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve it.” – Nastia Liukin

First, I’d like to share the goals I have accomplished this year:

  1. Get a new computer (Got an Apple MacBook Air)
  2. Create a scholarship fund for students who have lost a parent from prescription drug addiction (Started the Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund on September 20, 2015. It’s a non-profit that provides scholarships to students who have lost a parent to substance abuse. We are awarding our first $1,000 scholarship to a student who attends Washington State University. Visit www.theLMMFund.org for more info)

Stories Unfolded 2015 In Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 39,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 14 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Please Help Me Reach My Fundraising Goal for Cystic Fibrosis

FacebookCoverImage2015

Hello my lovely followers,

On June 10, 2015 I will be participating in a walk to help cure Cystic Fibrosis. My goal is to raise $1,000 and I’m asking for your help.

Help me reach my fundraising goal by donating any amount ($5, $10, $20, $25). Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by supporting life-saving research and medical progress. Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.

Here’s a bit about cystic fibrosis:

“Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) have CF.

In people with CF, a defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that”

  • Clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections
  • Obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down food and absorb vital nutrients.

In the 1950s, few children with CF lived to attend elementary school. Since the, tremendous progress in understanding and treating CF has led to dramatic improvements in the length and quality of life for those with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.”

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely, Danielle

Poll | Drink of Choice While Reading

I’m always curious (for some odd reason) what people prefer to drink while reading a book.  Does your choice depend on the book your reading or just your drink preference?

Personally, I love drinking wine while reading.  So, just to be a little nosy I created a poll.
