For a long time, I’ve been totally against e-books. I thought nothing could be better than holding a book, curling up in a blanket, and drinking some wine. While I still love the tangible book, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of e-books.
I started by downloading the Kindle app on my iPhone. It was a bit difficult because of how small the screen was, but it wasn’t terrible. So, I decided to get myself an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. Since Net Galley books are only available as digital copies, it gave me another reason to get the Kindle.
I’ve had the Kindle for a week now and have come to find that I’m actually reading more than with the paperback books. It’s really easy to use and it’s easier to carry around. I will always have another book on hand if I finish the one I’m reading.
I don’t think I will completely convert to e-books, but will appreciate what both e-books and paperbacks have to offer.
However, Nicholas Sparks books are the only ones I will have to have as paperback copies. He’s my favorite author.
What are your thoughts on e-books and paperback books?
I completely agree with you about everything! I also used to think there was nothing quite like holding a book and snuggling up to read it. However, once I got my iPad, I started getting my magazines in the digital editions. From there, I began to ‘buy’ some of the free books that are available for the kindle and ibook apps. And now that I read and review books from NetGalley, (with a big thank you to you for telling your readers about it) I LOVE having books on my iPad. It’s awesome the way you can highlight and mark it up, even though it’s digital. It’s nice to look at the bottom of each page and see how many minutes are left in the chapter and what percentage of the book you’ve read.

The website is the best! I appreciate you introducing it along with the blogger that introduced you. I enjoyed reading her posts as well as yours. I am participating in NetGalley Month and posted my first review yesterday. Almost done reading my second book and will probably be posting a review tomorrow or the next day 🙂

Hi! I’m a brand new Kindle user like you 🙂
In addition to what you’se saying about its convenience (it’s lightier than I tought, and books are cheaper), I’m absolutely fond of it’s Vocabulary Builder…
