Teaser Tuesdays | Dec. 02

teasertuesdays2014e

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. It’s easy to participate. Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“Facing such a huge loss at a young age forced me to see how people treat one another and what it’s like to grow up in America as part of a minority.  The experience also gave me a different perspective on living with the majority – being deaf in a hearing world.  My world was silent.  I was cut off from communicating and had to learn to survive through that.”

Upcoming Book Review & Giveaway | Inside Out by Lia Riley

Riley_InsideOut_ebook

Lia Riley’s Off The Map series comes to a conclusion with today’s release of Inside Out!  Inside Out is the final chapter of Bran and Talia’s romance.  I’ve followed these two love birds through the ups and downs that come with loving someone more than anything and have enjoyed learning more about each character.  While I’m sad the series is ending, I’m still loving the final book because it contains lots of familiar places to me.

As part of the Inside Out Blog Tour, I will be posting my review of the book on December 4th which will include TWO GIVEAWAYS!  I know my followers love giveaways, so be sure to check out the review on Thursday.

I want to congratulate Lia Riley and thank her for allowing me to review each book in the series. I’ve loved reading them and would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys reading new adult books.

INSIDE OUT by Lia Riley (December 2, 2014; Forever E-Book; $3.99)

Lia Riley made New Adult readers fall in love with her breakout debut, Upside Down. Sideswiped, the second of her series, made readers clamor for more. Now, with INSIDE OUT, Lia Riley brings her evocative Off the Map series to a stunning conclusion.

When Talia first moved from California to Australia to study abroad, she never dreamed she’d find the love of her life. Bran understands her like no one ever has before. And despite the numerous challenges they’ve faced, they’ve always managed to figure out how to stay together. But this time they’ll face their toughest hurdle yet. Is their love strong enough to keep them together?

About the author:

Lia Riley_Photo Credit Kitti HommeAfter studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, Lia Riley scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. When not torturing heroes (because c’mon, who doesn’t love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live mostly in Northern California.

Visiting The Last Bookstore

During my lunch break a few months ago, a co-worker and I walked to this lovely bookstore in Downtown LA called The Last Bookstore.

I asked my co-worker why he didn’t tell me about this bookstore sooner because it’s amazing!  They sell used, but decent books at cheap prices.  I only spent $16 on three books including sales tax and the books seem new.  They also sell new books as well, but at the retail price.  I was seriously in heaven being there.

If you ever find yourself on Spring Street in Downtown LA be sure to check out this awesome bookstore. I know I’ll be visiting regularly.
